The Eden Gardens saw Team India winning their 1st ever Day-Night Test match

The Eden Gardens in Kolkata turned Pink and successfully hosted the first pink-ball Test in India. The 2nd Test match of the Bangladesh tour of India witnessed the historic moment for both the countries that started from 22nd November but eventually ended 2 days before as Indian bowlers dominated and India won the match on the 3rd day.

The Kolkata city that is well known for its love for sports, especially cricket created a new beginning in Indian cricket history. The Prince of Kolkata, Sourav Ganguly took a bold decision just after becoming the president of the BCCI. He convinced everyone including the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the match under artificial lights. Interestingly this was also Bangladesh’ first pink-ball Test match.

The match not only witnessed former Indian stars but also athletes from different sports and the political leaders like Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Chief Minister of West Bengal state.

Team India also created numerous records in their 1st Day-Night Test match

After defeating Bangladesh in the 2nd test by an innings and 46 runs, team India created history in the history of Test cricket as they won four consecutive Tests by an innings margin. This was India’s seventh consecutive victory under the leadership of Virat Kohli which surpassed the previous record of MS Dhoni’s six consecutive victories in Test cricket for India.

The trio of Indian Pacers took 19 wickets in the 2nd test match and thus created a record for the highest for fast bowlers in India’s home ground.

The Bangladesh team created history by defeating India team in the 1st T20I and hence registered their 1st ever T20I victory against India in their 9th clash. Rohit Sharma is the name that comes to mind whenever we someone talk about T20I format whether it’s International or IPL, Rohit Sharma has dominated in this format from the day he debuted. As the regular captain, Virat Kohli is being rested he is leading the Indian side against the Bangladesh team.

Rohit Sharma is lucky that he will be the 1st Indian to do so as MS Dhoni who has played 98 T20I matches is not available for the selection after the World Cup 2019, if he had been there he has achieved this record very soon before Rohit can.

South Africa will face off India at Ranchi for the final Test

The team India’s domination in Test Cricket which seems to be unbreakable and if we talk about the same at the home then ultimately any team has to do something out of line to defeat Indian team home as they haven’t lost any series from 2013 at home and by defeating South Africa in the 2nd Test and winning India go past Australia and set the world record in Test cricket for most consecutive series victories at home.

The final Test match will be played at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi. The tale of MS Dhoni Biography was started from Ranchi itself as Dhoni was born there and as we know he is retired from Test cricket fans just want him to show it to the stadium in the 3rd Test between India vs South Africa.

Team India is also at the tops of the World Test Championship points table with 200 points as they are not defeated by any team yet. The captain of Indian team Virat Kohli is breaking an individual and captaincy record in every match he plays and also, he is just a point away from Steve Smith in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings which he might easily break it and made it to the top of the list after the 3rd Test is finished.

Team India at the top of World Test Championship

The Indian team defeated the West Indies team by 2-0 in the 2 match Test series which was also the part of the World Test Championship and hence tops the standings by 120 points. This was the 8th straight win for India against West Indies team in terms of Test series.

With Jasprit Bumrah continuing his outstanding bowling in the longest format of the game. Bumrah picked a five-wicket haul in the 1st Test match hence doing so for the 4th time and in the 2nd Test match he became the 3rd Indian to pick a Test hat-trick doing so after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan.

After the series got over Jasprit Bumrah jumped up to 3rd spot in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings, in just 12 matches of his Test career. Jasprit Bumrah was ranked 85th after his 1st Test match and is now at the 3rd after 12 matches if this type of performance by him continues then the days aren’t so far when Jasprit Bumrah will top the Test Rankings.

Hanuma Vihari came out as the most important player of the series after his effort took the team to a good score in every innings and he ended as the top scorer of the series with 289 runs. He also scored his 1st Test century of the Test career.

Virat Kohli by winning the 2nd Test match became India’s most successful captain as he recorded 28th victory as a captain and surpassed former Indian MS Dhoni who had 27 victories.

One thing that did not go well with Virat Kohli was his batting performance as he was also once out for a golden duck, and due to his not so good performance Steve Smith who just mark his comeback after a year-long ban took only 3 innings to dethrone Virat from the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings as he tops the list by 904 ratings point whereas Virat is at the 2nd spot with 903 rating point.
